Install and launch
After this page, you will have Guane open in your web browser. The app runs locally; the Shiny address that R prints is only reachable from your computer.
Requirements
- R and, optionally, RStudio.
- The R packages that Guane uses. Install dependencies installs them all with one command.
Get the code
Clone the repository from GitHub:
git clone https://github.com/alarconvv/Guane.gitNo git? On the Guane GitHub page, choose Code, then Download ZIP, and unzip it.
Then open the Guane folder in R or RStudio. For example, open Guane.Rproj.
Install dependencies
Run this once, in R, from the Guane folder:
install.packages(c("remotes", "pkgload", "devtools"))
remotes::install_deps(dependencies = TRUE)This installs every package Guane uses, including optional ones that some cards need, such as hisse and DDD. It also installs Guane’s developer and test tools, so it can take 10–30 minutes. If one of those tools (for example V8) fails to install, Guane still runs.
Launch
Choose the path that matches how you use Guane.
From the project folder
Run one of these in R from the project folder:
shiny::runApp(".")or
devtools::load_all()
guane::run_app()The first command runs the project’s app.R, which needs the pkgload package.
As an installed package
Install the package once from the project folder:
devtools::install()Then launch it from any R session:
guane::run_app()After launch
R prints a local address and opens the app in your browser.
To open one module only, pass its name: guane::run_app("signal"), "asr", "div" or "sse".
Missing packages
If R says there is no package called 'x', run install.packages("x") and launch again. The command in Install dependencies avoids this.
Switch language
Use the language menu at the top right of the app to choose English, Español or Português. Switching language keeps your loaded data, selections and fitted results. Some backend messages and audit text stay in English.
To start in another language, pass default_lang:
guane::run_app(default_lang = "es")Next step
Take the interface tour to learn the layout that every tutorial uses.
