Guane
Guane is an R/Shiny platform for phylogenetic comparative analyses through a friendly, multilingual graphical interface (English, Spanish and Portuguese). It joins a phylogenetic tree to species-level traits, makes data preparation visible, fits models through established R packages, and returns figures, numerical results, diagnostics and editable R code.
Four modules: phylogenetic traits (signal, PGLS, Pagel’s correlation, PGLM), ancestral state reconstruction, diversification, and SSE models (BiSSE, MuSSE, QuaSSE, hidden-state).
It began as a Fondecyt-funded project at Universidad de la Santísima Concepción, Chile, with Dr. Liam Revell (2021–2023), and has been presented at the SSE Evolution meeting in 2022 and 2023.
The bundled example is synthetic: it teaches the interface, and its results are not biological evidence.
