Trait-based and geographic approaches to understanding avian extinction risk.

My doctoral research investigates how species traits, geography, elevation, and climate relate to extinction risk in birds, connecting global patterns to the Northern Andes and Santander, Colombia.

The research plan combines avian trait data with conservation assessments and environmental information. It includes evaluating statistical and machine-learning approaches while accounting for taxonomy, data provenance, and spatial and phylogenetic dependence.

The goal is to understand how well global patterns transfer to regional conservation questions.

Status: ongoing doctoral research; findings are not yet presented on this page.
